Guitar Tech Available

Glad to have you stop back, and I've new news. I'm beginning to accept work again through Vance Music Studios in Lakewood. Turn around times will not be bad until I get a backlog of work. Chris and I are just starting to get things rolling, so it may be a while until all the kinks in our systems are ironed out. Anyone that works through the store now will be one of the first folks through. We both will do our best to help you with the processing of your instrument repair, and will be designing the operating systems to do so as Chris's store is being remodeled. It may be Sept-Oct until everything is figured out. I'd like to welcome back any old customers, and will be glad to meet any new customer's needs as well.

Chris's Jazz Trio will be playing again this Thursday at Brother's Lounge on Detroit Ave near West 116th St. that's August 7th. I think starting time is around 8:30p.m. I'd recommend calling the club to be sure. The trio features Bob Ferrazza on guitar, John Steeple Jr. on drums, and Chris Vance on bass. I'd highly recommend catching these guys play. This is not a little city band. Excellent playing, presented in a beautiful environment.

One of the categories to be added to my resume will be teacher. I’m going to be teaching at Vance Studios, as well as doing luthier work. Chris is running an up and coming teaching studio that is the home of many excellent and accredited teachers on a variety of instruments. Chris himself is a more than accomplished and well studied upright, and electric bass player, as well as a guitar player. We have already had discussions about adding a guitar repair and maintenance class to the list of available courses.

There will be more to say before the month is up. I'm trying to get to responding to email, individually. It's been impossible to find the time, up until now. Thanks for anyone who has been patient, and thought I would never reply. I'll be doing my best to set things up with you, and to arrange appointments when possible. Chris's actual store hours will be posted as soon as I can nail him down to give them to me. He works hard though, and is at the Studios seven days a week. That will be posted before the end of the month. There will be more information about Indie Guitars that I will have for sale. There are some beautiful electrics left in this stash of instruments, and I'll have more of their descriptions, and availability, later.

Just so you know, Chris’ Studios are located at: 16420 Madison Ave. Lakewood, OH 44107 Ph: 216-227-2886, and 216-789-2784

Chris’ web site is www.vancemusicstudios.com. This doesn’t work as a link, and that’s my text editor's fault. You’ll have to cut and paste it into your browser, or just type it out yourself. Any incoming work will be looked at for an accurate estimate, and a diagnosis will be given before any work is started. I’ll then contact the instrument’s owner directly to make sure we are on the same page as to how to proceed.

Thanks for stopping back. It's been an interesting run since the end of 2007, but this year will be the beginning of better things to come. May you all be blessed.

Kurt Wright
